Suffering From Hair Loss? - Surgical Hair Restoration without Looking Unnatural

Hair loss is a common problem we all suffer from. Hair is the most important part of the human body which enhances the aesthetic value of a person. A lack of good hair growth always makes us feel inferior. We are often sceptical about the kind of treatment options we should choose for hair loss. Baldness and hair loss is something which must be treated on an individual basis. While surgical treatment is considered to be a permanent step towards fighting hair loss, we should always gauge our individual needs before taking the giant leap towards hair restoration surgery.

Choosing hair restoration surgery is a major decision for most people since it revamps our appearance towards an attractive and more youthful look. Hair transplant surgery will restore hair that will grow naturally and it enables styling and haircuts, just like any other person without hair loss. The great part about hair transplantation is that it is a permanent solution for hair loss.  After your hair transplantation procedure, a combination of laser hair therapy, propecia, and Rogaine is recommended, to help solidify the transplanted hair follicles and aid in slowing the loss of hair from follicles that were not transplanted.  Talk with your doctor about his recommendations for post transplantation hair care.
What should be done?
Every person has a different texture, colour, and density of hair; which means that while looking for any surgical hair restoration one must target for a more realistic and natural looking hair line. Furthermore, individual hair follicles grow at different angles they can be curly, wavy or straight. This means that the surgeon must make exact incisions at proper angles, for each follicular unit and ensure the placement of the hair will cause them to grow in the right direction. Hair types also vary according to region of the body on which they are being inserted; a graft onto the scalp or beard-line will require hair from the scalp which is a different consistency than that of your body hair, which should be used for eyebrows and eyelashes.
As we all know, beauty lies in the eye of the beholder, so what may seem natural or beautiful to you may be completely different in the eyes of your hair transplantation surgeon. So when you visit your surgeon for consultation, make sure you look through sample pictures form a tabloid or photo albums to get an idea of the kind of look you wish for. Bring in these pictures and show them to your surgeon so that he/she can tell you how many transplantation sessions you need to achieve that hair style. Before you go under the knife, make sure they take you through the process step-by-step, showing you on your own scalp or face with a marker where and how the hair will be inserted. This will ensure that you are not unpleasantly surprised by the surgery’s outcome because your expectations and the surgeon’s ideas of those goals will be clarified from the outset of the procedure.
Hair Transplant Procedure-
Natural hair also depends on the method of transplantation you and your doctor choose for yourself.
Hair grows naturally in follicular units in which two or three hairs share a single gland. Earlier, large strips of hair would be removed from the back of the head to be placed in straight rows on bald parts of the head. But this did not produce natural looking hair because hair does not naturally grow in large segments or in perfect rows. There have been great advances in hair transplants over the last decade, so natural-looking hair can now be achieved by grafting the hair close to their actual nature rather than forcing them to grow in a haphazard manner. This is attained by using either FUE or strip harvesting techniques. In these methods, individual follicular units are either taken from the scalp directly or from a strip of hair which has been removed from the scalp. These units are then placed into incisions only millimetres long. Once they are inserted, the hair will grow as they do naturally within their follicular units.

Before you proceed for any hair restoration technique, always consult your surgeon for the pros and cons involved in the specific procedure and also weigh the cost options to give it your best shot.
