Which is The Best Hair Transplant Procedure?

The selection of the best hairtransplant procedure is still a matter of controversy among people. More and more people are switching to various hair restoration techniques to get a bold and beautiful head of hair.
Hair loss treatment is a fine combination of aesthetics and science. In order to get a natural looking transplant, it is imperative that you find a surgeon who is adept in both the precision and artistry. But sometimes the end results of the surgery does not depend on the surgeon, but entirely on the mode of surgery selected for transplantation. For men, the extent of baldness is often measured according to the Hamilton-Norwood, or just Norwood, Scale with 1 being no thinning and 7 being completely bald at the top and front of the head. Women have a different system of measurement called the Ludwig Scale. With the Ludwig Scale, I-1 represents no baldness and the top of the range is 3 which is total baldness at the crown of the scalp.
Usually, there are two popular hair loss treatment procedures chosen- FUT and the FUE. The choice of the mode of treatment depends on the patient’s anatomy of hair, budget and the ability to choose best hair transplant doctors in the city. Let’s take a glance at the best hair transplant treatments-

Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT)-
The FUT process involves removing a small strip of tissue from the back of the head, from which the donor hair follicles will be extracted. The hair follicles are harvested from the strip by a team of skilled hair surgeons before being individually transplanted to the recipient targets.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)-
In a FUE hair transplantation, each follicular unit is individually taken directly from the scalp with no strip of tissue being removed. Hair follicles are removed in a random fashion and the result is less density in the donor area that many say is not even noticeable. This is the basic difference between FUE & FUT.

Micro grafting-
This is an advanced form of FUE. Unlike traditional hair transplant in which a large number of follicles are removed from the donor area and then plugged into recipient area, micro grafting is a procedure in which the surgeon removes a strip of skin, complete with hair follicles from the donor site. This is placed under a microscope and the follicles dissected from the strip. These follicles are then implanted into the recipient site making a series of tiny incisions.

Organic Hair Transplant-
In this procedure, the patient’s ground or recipient site is prepared for transplant by injecting stem cells from the adipose (fat) tissue. This catalyses the hair transplant procedure and promotes better hair growth. Following this a normal hair transplant method is carried out, which could be either FUT (the strip method) or the FUE method. Due to injection of stem cells, the hair grafts receive proper nutrition for hair growth.

Recovery period-
Nearly all hair transplant procedures last about 3-5 hours per session, after which the patient is able to go home. Micro grafts may require a bandage on the back of the head for a day or two but some people do not even need that precaution. The follicles on the top of the head for both procedures do not need bandages and can be washed after the first day. Your scalp looks brand new after a week, besides minor scarring or scabbing affects.

The cost of hair transplant depends on the severity of hair loss/baldness and the mode of transplant. If you have level 2 or above level hair loss then cost may go high. Also cost is dependent on the number of grafts to be implanted per session. On an average per graft cost is around Rs.25–30, which makes the total cost between 35000 to 80000 rupees.
